In line with our mission to nurture self-directed BBSSians with a passion for the arts, we design programmes that enrich our students’ learning experiences and inspire in them a lifelong appreciation for artistic expression. Through both the curriculum and enrichment opportunities, students are exposed to diverse and meaningful arts experiences that ignite creativity and imagination.
During curriculum time, students explore the visual arts and music through engaging lessons that encourage creativity and self-expression. Beyond the classroom, they are introduced to various art forms—including dance, drama, music, and visual arts—through a range of programmes that allow them to showcase their talents and build confidence. Events such as Airtime Concerts, BBSS Got Talent, the Teachers’ Day Concert, and the biennial BBSS Rhapsody provide valuable platforms for students to perform and celebrate the arts within the school community.
Students also participate as appreciative audiences through assembly programmes and learning journeys to musicals and theatre productions, where they develop a deeper understanding of the arts and theatre etiquette.
BBSS Rhapsody, our biennial musical showcase, proudly continues our tradition of artistic excellence. This event celebrates the rich diversity of talent within our school, bringing together student performers from the English Literary, Drama and Debating Society (ELDDS), Chinese Orchestra, Concert Band, Choir, Malay Dance, and Modern Dance groups. Together, they present an inspiring performance that highlights both our cultural heritage and the power of collaboration. The event also serves as a meaningful learning opportunity for students to appreciate the discipline and artistry involved in live performances.
Our arts Instagram page, @echolites, serves as a digital platform to celebrate and showcase our students’ artistic achievements. Through this platform, we aim to foster a vibrant and inclusive arts culture that reaches beyond the classroom.
