Malay Special Programme

Overview

MSP is one of the Ministry of Education’s Third Language programme. It is a language programme for students whose Mother Tongue Language is not Malay.

MSP Lesson is held once a week, 3 hours per lesson. It is an examinable subject leading to the Singapore-Cambridge Secondary Education Certificate (SEC) examination.

Malay Special Programme 2026

Class Schedule

For Secondary 1 students, allocation of class will be informed through the child’s school by 14 Jan 2026.

Registration for 2025 Secondary 1 students [26 Dec 2025-7 Jan2026 (1700hr)]

Secondary 1 2026 students who have been offered the subject, please register at https://go.gov.sg/msp-registration-bukitbatoksec or scan the following QR code (link will be available from 26 Dec 2025, 0700hrs to 7 Jan 2026, 1700hrs only).

Please note that this registration is only for those who have successfully been offered the subject, Malay (Special Programme) at Bukit Batok Secondary School (West - Zonal Centre).

(i) If successful applicants do not register by 7 January 2026, the offer will lapse, and the place will be offered to another applicant.

(ii) Commencement of lesson will begin in the week of 19 January 2026 (please see above for the specific date). Other commencement details such as class allocation and classroom venue will be sent to schools by 14 January 2026.

(iii) Books will be bought upon the teacher's instruction in class.

Applicants who were unsuccessful and those who wish to appeal to take up the subject, please contact your respective school’s Head of Department.

Withdrawal from Programme

For current students who would like to withdraw from the programme, please complete the Withdrawal Form and submit it to BBSS.
