BBSS Choir - Querencia
The BBSS Choir, known as 'Querencia' (Spanish for a place where one feels happy, safe and strong), is more than just a musical ensemble—we are a family united by our shared passion for choral excellence. Our choristers embody the spirit of seizing opportunities, daring to learn, and embracing challenges that push us beyond our comfort zones.
Under the expert guidance of choral director Ms Michelle Poh and assistant Ms Eugenia Yip—accomplished singer-musicians with diverse international experience—our members develop not only exceptional vocal techniques but also the confidence to shine as captivating performers. Through rigorous training sessions, we cultivate teamwork, resilience, and the courage to step into the spotlight as confident singers.
This year, Querencia is focused on embracing every opportunity that comes our way. We dare to earn our place on bigger stages, take up new challenges, and support each other in becoming more confident, expressive singers. Whether performing at school celebrations or community events, our choristers step out of their comfort zones with pride and determination.
Through regular performances at external concerts and school events, we challenge ourselves, showcase our growth, and strengthen our bonds as a team. These platforms allow us to hone our skills whilst building the self-esteem and stage presence that defines a true chorister.
Beyond the music, we build lasting friendships through student-led activities and choir camps, creating memories that extend far beyond our rehearsal sessions. At BBSS Choir, we don't just sing together—we grow together, pushing each other to reach new heights while maintaining the joy and camaraderie that makes Querencia truly special.
